Aira really enjoyed fooling around flirting with Henry - she generally found it amusing to tease men, but this was way different. She had never really had this feeling of happy sparks from a bonfire ricocheting inside her chest that appeared when he approached her from behind. "Perhaps you shoulde", she turned around to face him, "can't have any fish biting my butte", she walked backwards until she reached the very edge of the river, then she laughed and dived into the water. It looked like she got swallowed by a cloud because of the surface reflecting the sky.

Henry took one last careful look around before he got his own gear off. He didn't want to be caught in a bandit raid with no clothes or weapons, that was something he'd experienced before. He remembered the night less than fondly, that was the same night a sultry woman had turned out to be a man in a dress, and an assassin no less. An embarrassing yet thrilling tale, he thought maybe he should tell Aira one day, she would love it. He could just hear her adorable laugh.
He put his gun belt close to the waters edge, hidden behind a rock and followed Aira into the reflected cloud. It was a huge relief entering the cool water in such sweltering heat, Henry decided in that moment that he should bathe more often. It might even have added benifits... like smelling better? Henry had always been under the impression that a man shouldn't smell like a lady though, he should smell like smoke, leather and dinosaur. Aira always smelled of cinammon...
"Look out!" Henry cried out jokingly, spotting her and grabbing her around the waist as she surfaced. "I thought I saw one them butt biting fish." he added after a few seconds, without actually letting go.

Aira yelped, and by reflex flung her arms around Henry's neck although that wouldn't help much if there actually was a fish on its way to bite her. Of course it took less than a second for her to figure out that it was just for fun, but what seemed like a lifetime for her to be pulled out of trance his eyes had trapped her in. Then she smiled again. "You're the buttfishe!", she exclaimed and pretended to be surprised, but she couldn't keep the facade on. She let her hands glide from her head down to her neck in order to remove her wet hair so that she could see properly.

Henry stared back at her, obvious lust in his eyes drawing closer to her, but then she spoke.
He reacted to her statement by bursting out in laughter. Buttfish?! "Haha Ah was the buttfish all along!" he teased and pinched her butt, swimming away before she could retaliate.

"AIE!", she splashed water at Henry, but he was already gone from the spot. She dived after him, managed to grap his leg and dragged herself onto his shoulders like if she was having a horse-ride on his back. "I really like you Henry", it suddenly burst out of her in the middle of it all. It didn't sound rushed or nervous, it was just a statement, but a very important one of the kind.
On land Roc was chilling out under the shadow of a small bush. His neck feathers rose when a distant high-pitched sound reached his highly sensitive ears. It was a familiar sound, but it was so long time ago that he couldn't recall from where he had heard it. Aira was too far away and busy for him to catch her attention, and he didn't felt like screeching at the moment, the heat exhausted him.

Henry stopped laughing for a moment and stood up in the water so both their heads and shoulders were above the surface, most of his torso was heavily scarred and he had something that looked like an old shotgun wound on one of his shoulders, in addition to the rope scars around his neck that she had already seen on their first meeting.
"Ah really like you too." he said with a little hesitation. He more than liked her though. Hell this was the woman of his dreams, crazy, free-spirited and as uncommitted to civilized life as he was. Perhaps this was not the time to profess his love... since she had only said she liked him... Remy always told him he fell in love too easily. As deadly and callous as he was in combat, Henry was a hopeless romantic at heart.

If Henry could read her thoughts he might now have hestitated like that - for the first time she had found someone she could see herself with - but neither of them knew how weirdly bad the other wanted them. She was thrilled about his answer never the less, and couldn't help but lift her shoulders and wiggle a bit like an excited child on its way to circus before she let go of him and started to float on her back with a semi-goofy satisfied smile on her face.
Roc was starting to get impatient waiting for the humans, and began to squawk. They didn't hear it. He tried again, but after the second failure he ran back into the shadows. After 4 minutes had passed and he heard the distant sound not as distant anymore he went down to the water edge again and screamed as loud and long as he could. Aira stopped doing whatever she was doing and looked puzzled at her dino on land.
"I think someone is comminge", she said to Henry. Her tone indicated that it were not enemies though. Could it already be this tribe of hers?

Her cheerful tone of voice really meant nothing to him, he wasn't fond of strangers in the desert as a rule. It didn't matter if it was a friendly merchant, Airas tribe, or even just old Mrs. Lillian coming to see where Henry had gone. He would prefer to be armed in all situations.
"Someone's coming? here?" Henry was on the shore in an instant, trying to get dressed again. It was sort of difficult to put clothes on when he was soaking wet though. He settled for pants and his gun belt, looking around fervently for signs of people approaching.

Aira watched Henry speeding onto land again, she didn't even manage to answer his question before he was pulling his pants on with a squeaking Roc running in circles around his legs, around a tumbleweed and around himself.
She got to the edge and started to put on her clothes as well while listening carefully........ There was the sound again. "It is theme", she said both excited and nervous, "they will be here in about 15 minutes I thinke, it is hard to determine." Aira couldn't believe that they'd found their way to Gwangi. When she had parted ways with them a few years ago she had gone in one direction, and they had in the opposite. Something must have made then travel in a circle or something like that.
"I have been thinking about somethinge", she said tentatively while pulling her shirt on, "if they really are going to force me to follow them again I have a plan to prevent it to happene. But I would need to ask you a big favore." She switched between looking serious and relaxed as if she did not know which of them she should rely on.

"Fifteen minutes.... are they going to approve of finding yer here with me?" he asked, not really sure how he was supposed to react or even to expect. He had never met a tribe of anything before, his knowledge of natives was mostly derived from racist slurs.
Henry snapped his serious gaze from the horizon back to her face, he looked like a man fixing for a fight. Her switching between expressions only seemed to agitate him further. "What do you need me to do?" he replied seriously, letting go of his gun for a few moments to put on his boots. He stood back up and started checking his gun was loaded per habit.

Aira made a tiny smile looking down at the ground, "they wouldn't mind that at all, they're open to strangers as long as they respect them, also seeing you with me on friendly terms automatically stamps you as no threat."
She took a few steps towards him while fiddling with her headdress in hand. "They can't claim something that already belongs to someone. Muasa, my stepfather, he can connect us and then I wouldn't have to go. I really don't hope it will happen, but if it does... It doesn't mean anything or will make you responsible for somethinge", she finally started to sound a little nervous, afraid of that he would refuse and thus leaving her with a 50-50 chance of loosing her freedom. It's not like she hated her tribe or anything, but she - like everyone else - knew that she didn't belong there, and she'd always wanted to be free and on her own. That was a thing only her stepfather could understand.

Henry almost dropped his gun, it was really hard to make Henry almost drop his gun. Almost like making a normal man drop part of his arm. "Are yo... are you askin' me to marry you?" he stared at her, his caution replaced by total confusion. "I mean... if that's what it... I... ah dunno if you.... why me? why would you ask me?" he started to speak really fast.
What she had just said sounded like some kind of crazy other religion's proposal, did the woman ask the men in her culture? Was it customary to ask a man she had only known for a month? Henry didn't know what was going on and he was freaking out visibly. A moment ago he had been willing to kill for her, but this was something entirely different.
"Well ah'd kinda hoped to take you out for a meal or two first.... but if it's a matter of your freedom... I mean... I aint sayin'...." He half regained his composure and then started to mumble again.

Aira was sincerely surprised that this made Henry loose it, he didn't seem like a guy that was seized by anything, but apparently this was something bigger to him than she had assumed
"Uhe", she was a little uncertain now, "I feel like I can trust you. We both like each other, so it shouldn't be hard to do. It is just so that they wouldn't take me, it doesn't have to mean anything, it really doesn't, don't be scarede", she took his hands in hers like to make him calm down, but it might as well make it all worse.
Now Aira was the one to be confused. Why was he talking about taking her out? Had he planned something for the future? That explained why he was acting this way, but really? It dawned on her that they shared the same feelings without telling the other. She had not said anything about it yet because she'd never felt like this before, but maybe she should have so that they wouldn't be this nervous. Or was it happening too fast? She didn't really know, usually she just told how she felt, but now she was afraid of scaring Henry away.
While they were talking Roc had crawled into Aira's shoulders again.

"You... trust me?" He looked shocked by that declaration as by anything else. Trust was not easy to come by when you were a liar, a thief and a killer. Henry stared down at her hands like he was looking at a ghost or something. Well this day certainly hadn't turned out as expected. "Of course... no Ah'm not scared..pfft." Henry shook his brain out of it's catatonic state and tried to smile. "Of course ah'll help you." he finished quietly.
How could he let her down, the only person to trust him possibly in his entire life. Even his gang had taken everything he had said with a grain of salt. besides... he loved her.

"Of course I do!", Aira regained her happy self within the blink of an eye, and put on her headdres. This would be one of the last times she would wear it, she agree with herself.
She laughed, "that's good, there's nothing to be afraid ofe", she spun on the place and went for her own belt with the blunderbuss and knife.
"If you have those things you needed to do you should go do them, the tribe is gonna stay around the area for a least one night, so we have plenty of time", she said while tightening the belt around her waist. Actually she would've just get over with it as fast as possible so that Henry wouldn't have to walk around with the pressure on his shoulders, and generally so that she could be with him a little longer, but she hadn't forgot that he maybe was busy.
