"Aw..." Jay laughed softly and looked over to his two dino companions, smiling. They were a unique, precious pair, though. "I think lucky for YOU that is. You might be riddled with bullet holes and maggots when I found ya." She grimanced, then watched the tow mounts curiously.
Dune growled back playfully and happily, nudging her again playfully. She was so pretty! His dumb mind didnt know what to do! A smirk worked it's way up on Jays lips. She grabbed Hindricks arm, laughing. "Aww, look~ We're gonna be grandparents," she teased.

Hindrick paled a bit at Jay's description. It was quite possible it would have gone that way. The man was stubborn and at least he would have made it troublesome for the bandits before they did shoot him. Thankfully Jay had shown up, so he had some more time on this earth. "Well, I'm still glad you came round."
Alaois popped his head out fo the pouch again as Fion began to cuddle up with Dune. In an attempt to keep himself form being squished he hopped out and landed on the ground with a poof of dirt. After some thought the beast crawled slowly over to Jay, eying Hindrick in a guilty manner the whole time. Once to the thief he put his little paws on her boots and used her as a shield from Hindrick's slightly amused but grumpy stares.
Fion on the other hand was grumbling happily. The gentle beast gave dune a sniff and then a gentle lick with her long tongue. She liked him a lot. It was clear he liked her too and was a bit flabbergasted by her. She enjoyed this. Hindrick managed a chuckle. He found Jay's enthusiasm refreshing. Most people weren't interested in hybrids, they wanted purebreds. "And what interesting dinosaurs they would be. You have no offenses to something like that happening?" The man queried, unsure if Jay was messing with him or serious.

Dune's head hicked back a moment, an almost bright, stupid, but happy grin on the dinosaurs face. He wasn't the brightest bulb, for sure, but he wasn't dumb enough to ignore his biological instincts. He growled back playfully, happily, licking her back on the nose as he scooted close, tail swishing with excitement.
Jay laughed, waving a hand and snorting. "Why of course! Keeps things interesting. Who wants a purebred, anyhoo? There's no creativity there." a grin found it's way onto her lips. "I call dibs on an egg." she snickered and nudged him playfully.

Fion grumbled happily and bumped her long snout against Dune's. She sniffed him, bumped him and licked him all in an attempt to have a proper cuddle. It was clear she was about to follow her instincts as clear as it was with Dune. Alaois on the other hand snorted and crawled into Jay's lap. He eyed the pink haired thief before curling up into a tight ball. The little beast was obviously looking for some attention.
Hindrick gave a small smile and looked back to the beasts. It was clear that some fireworks were happening. It'd be hell to try and separate them after this. "You can have one if you can get it away from Fionuir. She's.... Motherly to say the least," The scientist eyed his dino as she got cozy with Dune. He had never bred the Xiongguanlong before and wasn't exactly sure how she would handle it. But everything was an experiment to him.
It wasn't long before sounds drifted back down the canyon. The bandits were coming back and it was getting dark soon. They walked past the cave and Hindrick held his breath. He'd rather make it through this day rather than be riddled with lead.
"I'm goning to find that short peacock an break his neck and stomp on that little rat with wings! That woman too!" The largest man grumbled. A few of the men following behind gave out grunts and others moans. "Can't we give it a breake boss? There's no way out this canyon, we have them trappe." The leader scowled and glared at the shorter man. The man spoke again, "Boss, come on. Tal, Chris and George are injured. If we make camp around here they'll have to come by. We just need to rest."
The leader grumbled, "Fine! Yer all lazy bastards though!" The brute grumbled and ordered the man to set up camp, many gave relieved sighs. However they were setting up camp only twenty feet from the hidden entrance to Hindrick and Jay's hiding spot.

Jay snickered. "Motherly instincts? I-" she pause, looking down as the smaller dino perched itself and cuddled right into her lap. A smile set on her face, the woman reaching down to stroke his feather. "well hey there, pretty. Comfy?" She almost let out a laugh, but the voices from outside choked up up. Eyes set onto Hindrick in almost panic. They were back?!
Her hand raised, snapping a few times at Dune who was absolutely twitterpated by his new love. He looked over, tilting his head dumbly, but quieted. This didn't look very good. She slowly scooted over to Hindrick, biting her lip. "What're we gonna do?" she whispered.

Hindrick froze as well, and scrunched up against the wall of the cave. Was this happening? Did they really come back? Hindrick looked over to Jay and placed a finger on his lips. They had to stay quiet.
Fion sensed the noise as well and laid out on the ground while ceasing all noises. It looked like she was trying to camouflage herself but really she was just a giant lump of colourful dinosaur. Hindrick scooted over to Jay as well. When the two met he leaned over to whisper to her. "We need to stay quiet, they haven't seen the entrance and if they do we fight back. They'd have to come in one by one, we have cover," He looked over Jay briefly as she saw a shadow pass by the entrance. "Unless you know a way out of here we'll have to wait until it gets dark and then sneak away."
Alaois at this point had climbed up to jay's shoulders and was clinging to her in a ruffled state. He clearly did not want to be found. Hindrick took this time to quietly check if his rifle was fully loaded. After biting his lip and thinking for a brief moment he leaned over to Jay again, "If we die, I'm sorry."
One of the bandits walked past again, completely oblivious to the entrance to the cave. Hindrick had to thank the stars for that. he heard the echoing orders of the angry brute and couldn't help but want to punch the man. It wasn't long before he smelt burning wood and knew they had started a campfire. Why did they have to camp so close to them?

Her reddish, orange hair bobbed slowly in agreement with her nods at Hindricks words. Stealth was in her skill set- but was it in Hindricks? This also didn't count their mounts. She gently rubbed Alaois' feathers, trying to soothe him as the voices began to fade, the bright, orange light of a warm fire springing up through the cracks. Bastards. She wanted one of those right now.
But a smile cracked on her lips. Maybe she wasnt taking the situation seriously- this was a life or death situation. They had limited supplies, not to mention the night was going to be a cold one without a fire. He leaned over again, his voice tickling her ear as he whispered. "Don't be sorry," she whispered back. "I suppose it's better to die with a friend?" A smirk grew on her lips. "Or die fighting AND with a friend." She gave a playful grin, but made sure to stay quiet. "Dont worry, I'll protect you~"
She slowly slipped her knife back into it's holder, feeling a little better now that the bandits were mostly likely getting ready to sleep. "W e should get some rest," she sighed softly, running a hand through her hair. "Or take turns keeping watch." A shrug followed after her words.

Jay wouldn't have to worry about Hindrick being sneaky. The man had spent a decent amount of time learning how to be quiet so he'd be ignored. Fion was rather good at being quiet as well, but her tail had always been a problem. The thing got everywhere. The exotic dinosaur was currently laying on the dirt ground, letting out little snorts of impatience. Would these angry people go away already? She was in the middle of something.
Hindrick blinked when Jay used the word Friend. He hadn't heard that word applied to him in years. He was a little taken back, but managed a small smile. He wasn't sure what to say to the girl, but he gave her a nod instead. When the subject of watch came up he raised an eyebrow," I can keep watch, it's not like I sleep anyway. You should get some."
He mumbled this while he kept his eyes on the entrance. His rifle was ready, if any walked in he's knock them straight in the face with the butt of the rifle. Thankfully as time wore on the bandits kept their distance. But as time wore on the cave grew dark and it grew cold. Hindrick frowned when he noticed that Jay was shivering from the cold. She barely wore enough to cover herself and now it had dropped 40 degrees. Hindrick grumbled and worked his self out of his coatjacket. Doing his best not to move Jay he draped the warm piece of clothing over her shoulders.
He grew up in the north on the coast and currently lived in the same climate. he could take the cold, a night like this was nothing for him. He just hoped they could leave soon.

Dune whined softly, then laid down next to Fion, nudging and nuzzling her to let her know he was still there, and quite interested in cuddling.
"You don't sleep?" Jay said, honestly shocked in her quiet whisper. She pursed her lips, eyes narrowed. "We'll both try to sleep. That's not healthy." a huff escaped her mouth, her gloved hands rubbing her arms and legs as she tried to warm up. Though Hindrick seemed to solve the issue. She opened her mouth a little, but couldn't think of a reply as his large overcoat settle around her shoulders. It was incredibly warm, and more than comfortable.
She gave the scientist a confused, almost wary look... but then smiled softly. "T...thank you," she replied softly. The thief wasn't used to these generous displays. She wasn't used to even knowing gentlemen who knew how to treat a lady right. She rubbed the back of her neck as she cuddled into the jacket, flattered and definitely more than happy for the warmth.
But this wouldn't do. Gaining this warmth, she soon realized she had taken a good portion from Hindrick as well- and that didn't settle well for her. It was only because it was cold- or so she told herself. The thief scooted closer and took the coat, grabbing one side and putting it around Hindricks shoulder, then the other around hers so they were both inside.
Without much thought on personal boundaries, she grabbed his arm, lifted it, then proceeded to make herself comfortable snuggled against his chest. She let his arm down to rest wherever he felt most comfortable. "Might as well... try to be warm, you know? Cold and all. Besides...If I'm going to die tomorrow, at least I got to say I spent the night well." She didn't look up at him, honestly a little embarassed by her motions. But she kicked those feelings aside.

Fion gave a grumble and scooted closer to Dune. She nuzzled him gently, attempting to be quiet. She was still afraid of those loud men with the guns. She didn't want them to start shooting again.
Hindrick snorted at Jay's response. He was terribly insomniac and often didn't fall asleep until the wee hours of the morning. But then he usually had things to do so he had adjusted to taking catnaps throughout the day. "I don't sleep that well. Don't worry," He mumbled, as he raped the coat on her shoulders. Alaois grumbled and moved back to Jay's lap. The man looked down when Jay gave a soft thank you. It sounded almost like she wasn't expected him to offer up his coat. But the two viewed the world in different ways. Hindrick was raised to be a proper gentlemen and to use the manners that had been drilled into his head. Jay was used to the world being harsh and unforgiving.
"You are-" Hindrick began but was cut off when Jay proceed to drape the coat over his shoulders. It was an awkward position because he was already so broad-shouldered and Jay's own shoulders added to the length. The elder man's eye widened in surprise at Jay's sudden encroachment on his personal space. The man opened his mouth an closed it, much like a gaping fish.
"Miss Marci... Jay," He began intent on telling her he was uncomfortable, but he couldn't bring himself to do it,"Nevermind." The man looked forward into the dark of the cave, lips in a thin line and if one could have seen it, blushing deeply. Hindrick never really had experience with relationships. He had relations before, but under large doses of alcohol and he was far from drunk at the moment.
Rospev's hand fell on Jay's free hip, but he was far too surprised to really even notice where it lay. He was also very surprised by the fact he had a woman leaning on his chest. Gulping he looked up to the skylight of the cave. Tonight was going to be interesting. For the moment the man was rather speechless.
((awww broken Hindrick))

The thief raised a brow as he spoke her name, sounding almost...uncomfortable. But with a 'nevermind' she too dismissed it and shrugged, nuzzling a little into his chest. Much better. Unlike Hindrick, Jay wasn't used to the cold, so this was a reprieve from the weather.
She hoped he wasn't uncomfortable- she certainly wasn't. And well... She never minded the warm embrace of a tall, handsome man, either. Either way, Jay was seemingly in a win/win situation. Well..theyd figure it out later. For now she wanted rest, hoping the bandits would be gone by morning.

Being a man of high breeding Hindrick was now rather uncomfortable and far too polite to say anything. He was not expecting anything of this sort nor did he know how to deal with such a situation. He did have to admit it was warm.
It wasn't long before the thief had fallen asleep. Hindrick on the other hand was quite awake and much in his thoughts. His mind was going through lists of what to do in such a situation. Most Of his answers said to get out of such a scandalous position. Others contradicted them and said to be polite and keep the girl from freezing. It made scientific sense that they would be warmer like this than by themselves. But it was so SCANDALOUS.
His mother would have his head if she ever saw him like this. But then again he hadn't talked to his mother in 12 years and she was a bitch of a woman anyway. Gulping, Hindrick shifted ever so slightly to get comfortable. Not that he could get as comfortable as he wanted. There was a rock at his back and a woman on his chest.
If anyone ever saw him like this... he wasn't sure he could ever show his face again. It wasn't because of Jay. It was the action. Jay was a lovely girl and one of the first few people that had been kind to him in years. But Hindrick felt the need to keep up appearances. Even though he broke ties with the upperclass, he still tried to appear like one. In reality he was a poor scientist living in a small apartment in Boston that boxed and drank in his free time. He was far from civilized people.
Alaois on the other hand was enjoying the warm and laid sprawled out in Jay's lap, his wings extended onto Hindrick's. The beast opened an eye when Hindrick shifted a little. But quickly went back to sleep. yes, this was going to be a long night. He couldn't walk through this one and he sure as hell wasn't going to sleep until those bandits were gone.
